4. Make her/him your priority: where the treasure of a man is, there his heart will be. If you make her your priority, giving her time and attention won't be so hard. I know there are many dudes out there that will accept you the way you are, but there is no one that will take you seriously without being sure he is a priority, normally, she will want to be more important to you than your work, but that is not the issue, the point is no matter how crazy your life is, make her a top priority, don't just say it, but back it up with actions.
5. Consciously work her/him into your daily schedule: What determines the time you spend with bae? Absence of work or free schedule? Make being with him or her as important as submitting that proposal to your boss. If you are waiting till you have a free moment to reach out and show that you care, the free moment may never happen because there will always be something to do, something unexpected will always come out of no where to spoil your plans, reason you need to put in efforts and stop waiting for chances.

6. Let him know about the demands of your job: he doesn't have an idea about the demands of your job and you expect him to understand your long absence, cancelled dates and appointments? Stop assuming he should understand when you aren't doing anything to help him. Try talk about your job with him, your challenges, let her advise you, when you have the opportunity, introduce your colleagues to her, this will definitely make him/her feel like a part of your life, your job, don't isolate any area of your life, especially not that which is taking your time daily.
7. Make use of every opportunities: no matter how busy we are, there will be free moments, I can remember a day I was so busy I couldn't sit down to eat, phone was ringing and I couldn't pick, that day was crazy, we all go through that, but am sure we don't have that all the time. There is a salient beauty in reaching out in between your schedules. Thank God for social media, it is easy to sneak in and say "hi" now than in the past years. Free lunch hour, free time in a terrible hold up, make use of those little opportunities to say hi and check up on him/her, am sure it will mean a lot.
But a disclaimer: don't feel once you are reaching out In those little ways you've fulfilled all requirements, nope, you still need to make better plans once in a while.
